Moving house and moving home
A note on being present in multiple places at once, tableware choices, and cleaning tips
I’ve recently written a lot on bird inspirations in video games, but now it’s time for a more personal and less structured note. Don’t get me wrong, birds in video games are nice, those articles are easy to write, and that practice makes me look up bird species I would have never seen or thought about otherwise.
But it’s time to write something else.
Bilocation
I spend weekends outside the flat I’m paying for or have a guest over. Being Eastern Europeans (with not the best experiences), living together is regarded as an extremely important commitment that goes beyond making a financially logical decision. We’re like the children of a divorced couple of apartments, split by a court ruling and spending weekends with one of the parents together. This may not be the approach for everyone at a similar life stage as I am, but it gives me the comfort of not being just the “pleasant roommate” — that I was before.
One of the parents now gets changed into an owned apartment instead of a rented one. The cleaning, last orders from the Swedish shop, parts of the bedframe miraculously being shipped to Prague instead of Poznań, all that.
