A new collection of bird sounds, this time accompanied by the sea and seaside noises, is out today
Who thought you can only publish the chirps and calls of the small birds from the forest as nature sounds? Well, this album is not relaxing in a way that an oriole song can be. Here we have the sounds of gulls, crows, snipes (dunlins, to be precise), sea, rain, and industrial container port.
The cover of the album is Snipes at the shore, by Ohara Koson. During the recording of that album, the snipes were outnumbered by crows and seagulls, but you still can hear a dunlin if you’re listening closely.
Snipes are birds from the family Scolopacidae, which includes 26 bird species. I’m not a snipe expert, but I can tell you that unfortunately, snipes like those on the cover weren’t present during the recording.
